Accused Drug Dealer Facing Multiple Charges After Raid In Area

An accused drug dealer has been charged following a raid in Poughkeepsie, police say.

Members of the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) say they carried out a search warrant issued by the City of Poughkeepsie Court on Friday, April 12.

The warrant was allegedly executed at a residence on South Clinton Street by VGNET, Special Operations and Response Team and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

During the search, police recovered:

  • Approximately 24.6 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 21.6 grams of crack-cocaine
  • Approximately 1.3 grams of heroin

Police arrested 44-year-old Muneer Nesheiwat of Poughkeepsie. He was charged with:

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a Class B felony (two counts)
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony

Nesheiwat was arraigned before the City of Poughkeepsie County and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secure bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday, April 15.
